According to a recent report from Gazzetta dello Sport, Gonzalo Higuain is set to stay with Italian champions Juventus beyond the summer transfer window. The belief was that he would entertain the idea of a move away, with Roma being really interested in securing his services, but it would appear as if he has changed his mind. Manager Maurizio Sarri has been featuring him heavily during the pre-season, with the belief being that he will serve as something of a back-up to Cristiano Ronaldo.
Of course, while he may be okay with that at this moment in time, it would seem as if he could re-consider that approach by the time January comes around if he isn’t getting the kind of first team action he desires.
Either way, though, wherever he ends up, it still feels like the Argentine forward has a good few years left playing at the highest level in European football before he decides to either hang up his boots or head over to China/America for a big money move.
