Former Germany international Andreas Hinkel has backed Bayern Munich to claim their first Bundesliga title since 2009/10.
The Bavarians hold a nine-point lead over second-placed Bayer Leverkusen, while reigning champions Borussia Dortmund have already fallen 12 points off the pace.
“Dortmund and Bayern have the biggest chance at success for me,” Hinkel told Goal.com.
“I have to admit that Bayern are sitting in pole position, though, and I believe that they will win the Bundesliga title this term.”
Hinkel, who retired from professional football last year, also discussed the performances of his former club Stuttgart.
“Stuttgart have improved after their poor start to the season and recorded a number of positive results. Their football wasn’t always the best, but the victories in the DFB-Pokal and Europa League were a boost,” he said.
Bruno Labbadia’s Stuttgart side are ninth in the Bundesliga table.
