Hoffenheim announce Schar capture

Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim have announced on their official website that they have completed the signing of Swiss defender Fabian Schar from FC Basel.

The TSG 1899 produced a major coup by winning the chase for the Switzerland international, who had been linked with Juventus, Arsenal and few more top clubs.

After helping FC Basel win the sixth successive league title, Schar decided to embark on a new challenge and he will sign a four-year deal with Hoffenheim.

The 23-year-old already has a great deal of top flight experience, having made a total of 73 league outings for FC Basel, scoring 9 goals in the process.

Schar has also earned 12 Switzerland caps and started two Euro 2016 qualifiers, scoring against both Estonia and Lithuania.

The youngster is already regarded one of the most prolific defenders in Europe, having bagged at least four league goals in four of last five seasons.
