“Jonas has steadily developed into a key player at the club in his three-and-a-half years here and has played a big part in our success this season. We’re delighted that we will continue working together.”

Those are the words of Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl, who was speaking after the confirmation of Jonas Hofmann’s new contract extension with the club. The deal is set to keep him at the club until 2023, following a strong first few years at the club. He made the jump over to Gladbach back in 2016, jumping ship from Borussia Dortmund where he had spent the previous five years of his career. The 26 year old has been one of the stand-out players for the club in the middle of the park this year, and as we look ahead to the future, it seems as if that trend is set to continue for a good few years to come.
