Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has dropped a very strong hint that he could soon be leaving Southampton.
The midfielder is being heavily linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Everton. Spurs might be on the lookout for a replacement for their record signing Tanguy Ndombele who could be on the way out after only a year. Meanwhile, Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is said to be on the lookout for midfield reinforcements and a big admirer of the Dane.
At the age of 24, Hojbjerg has become the captain at Southampton and as he told radio station Sport1, he believes he is ready to take the next step. His ambitions are high – to win both the Premier League and the Champions League, but he is grateful to the club for giving him a ‘platform to grow’ and he described his relationship with the Saints as fantastic.
Nonetheless, he is keen to try his qualities at a higher level now.
