Holding closing in on new Arsenal deal

Arsenal are ready to of Rob Holding a new contract, according to the Mirror.

The twenty-one year old moved to the Emirates Stadium from Bolton Wanderers last summer for a fee of £2.1m, and featured regularly towards the end of last season amid the North London side’s defensive crisis.

He made eighteen appearances for the Gunners, the last of which came in the FA Cup final at Wembley where he helped them to a 2-1 win over Premier League champions Chelsea while he had only played thirty times for Bolton ahead of his move down south.

He was however named the Trotters’ Player of the Year and went on to help England win in the Toulon tournament twelve months ago.

The news comes days after manager Arsene Wenger committed his future to the club by signing a new two year deal.

Arsenal can currently be backed at 1/1 to finish in the top four next season having missed out last time around.
