He watched his side cough up a 2-0 lead at Bolton, but Blackpool manager Ian Holloway was far from despondent after Saturday’s match.
Holloway’s outfit had taken a two-goal advantage after striker Luke Varney added to Ian Evatt’s opener in the 57th minute at the Reebok Stadium, but Martin Petrov and Mark Davies both struck for Bolton to ensure a share of the points.
The enigmatic manager was reluctant to heavily criticise his players, who picked up their 19th point of the season with the 2-2 result.
“We were brilliant, a little bit naive, but to play like we did against Bolton in the form they were in…” Holloway said after the game.
“I believe that playing like that will get us more points than it loses us.”
“I am not disappointed. I thought my team were absolutely brilliant. We came here, took the game to them, passed it and moved it and created a lot of chances.”
“I can’t be disappointed with that performance. I thought we were fantastic.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a match so much in my life. We caused them, a really good side, some problems and how we haven’t got all three points I don’t know – but that is football for you.”
“I would have paid to watch that.”
