Brett Holman has been ruled out of AZ Alkmaar’s Europa League match against Austria Vienna on Thursday after picking up a groin strain.
The Australian attacker suffered the injury his side’s 2-2 draw with Ajax on Saturday, Voetbal International has revealed.
The 27-year-old played a key part in his side’s match with the Amsterdam side, giving them the lead against the Dutch champions inside 15 minutes.
But he was substituted early in the second-half after picking up the knock.
The Australian international will undergo an MRI scan on Monday to determine the extent of his injury, but it has been reported he will not feature against Austria Vienna in the Europa League on Thursday.
