Russian newspaper Izvestia has learned that CSKA Moscow midfielder Keisuke Honda is set to complete his move to AC Milan.
While the Japan international had long ago agreed personal terms with the Serie A side, the two clubs were unable to reach an agreement over the transfer fee.
Even if Honda’s current deal is set to expire in December, the Rossoneri were eager to recruit him this summer and they seem to have succeeded in their quest.
Izvestia understands that a deal worth €4 million is set to be completed in the coming days, allowing the 27-year-old to finally make a switch to San Siro.
Honda will be taking a pay cut to facilitate his move to Italy, given that he will be earning €1.8m in Italy as opposed to €2.5m per campaign he is pocketing in Moscow.
There are no doubts the experienced midfielder will be a big asset for the Rossoneri, especially as he has finally fully recovered from a knee injury.
