CSKA Moscow beat Amkar Perm 1-0 in the opening match of the Russian season, played on Friday.

A week after losing the Super Cup clash with defending champions Rubin Kazan, CSKA were more successful in their home match with Amkar.

It did take until late to make a difference, as the winning goal came on 90 minutes and was scored by Keisuke Honda. The Japanese striker joined the Russian outfit from Dutch side VVV during the winter transfer window.

Champions Rubin start their 2010 campaign on Sunday, in a home match with Lokomotiv Moscow.
