Honduras square off against Panama in the group stages of the CONCACAF Gold Cup this week, and are favourites to come out on top in their second game of the tournament. The South American outfit are desperate for a result after losing their opening match against the USA, while opponents Panama also want to continue adding to their points tally following Wednesday’s draw against Haiti.

Honduras boast a stronger squad than their opposition, with the likes of Maynor Figueroa (Hull City), Oscar Garcia (Houston Dynamo), Andy Najar (Anderlecht) and Anthony Lozano (Olimpia) all expected to play against Panama, but they are making up the ground in Group A after losing their opener. They will want to win on Friday, but a draw wouldn’t be the worst result, given they have minnows Haiti to come in their last group game.

Nevertheless, Honduras more than fancy their chances of progressing into the next round, so they won’t take any chances this week against Panama. A win will put them on the brink of making the knockouts, and William Hill are giving tem odds of 7/4 to earn all three points on Friday.
