Honduras FA (FENAFUTH) president Rafael Callejas is looking forward to next June’s World Cup clash with Spain.
“SPain is the best team in the world, together with Brazil, and we will have to do really well,” Callejas said shortly after the draw in Cape Town, South Africa.
Honduras and Spain also met in the 1982 World Cup, where Honduras surprisingly held the hosts to a 1-1 draw.
“It would be very good to have that kind of result again, or maybe even better,” said the FA boss.
“If we prepare well, we have the quality to deliver a good result, even better than in 1982, and advance to the next round. This will be our target, to do better than in 1982.
Honduras, managed by Colombian coach Reinaldo Rueda, face Chile in their opening match, followed by clashes with Spain and Switzerland.
