(GSM) – Gérard Houllier is set to discuss his release from his French Football Federation post with president Fernando Duchaussoy amid reports that the former is to be installed as Aston Villa’s new manager.
Houllier, currently the national technical director of French football, is expected to ask for a release in order to become Martin O’Neill’s successor at Villa Park.
“I will meet Wednesday to take stock of the situation with him (Houllier), I’ll ask him,” Duchaussoy said. “I would like to continue working with him.”
Houllier, 63, is reportedly set to join Villa as manager after impressing the English club’s American owner Randy Lerner.
