Howard signs four-year Everton deal

Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has signed a new four-year contract at Goodison Park.

Howard has been a consistent performer for the Premier League club since joining from Manchester United in 2006 on an initial loan deal before signing permanently the following year.

The American shot-stopper has gone on to make more than 250 appearances for David Moyes’ side.

Howard has been the club’s first choice goalkeeper since joining the Merseyside outfit and claims he had no hesitation in signing fresh terms.

“I couldn’t be happier. I’ve had a smile on my face ever since we finalised the deal,” Howard told the club’s official website.

“When you have a really good relationship in life and both sides are eager to continue and keep that going, it’s a no-brainer.”

“This hasn’t been a knockdown, drawn-out type of negotiation with meetings or anything like that. They were very happy to keep me here and I was very, very happy to stay.”

“It’s a place that is home for me.”
