(GSM) – Hamburger SV have confirmed that star striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has torn an adductor muscle, which could mean atleast a month on the sidelines.
Van Nistelrooy, who arrived at HSV from Real Madrid in January, suffered the injury in training on Tuesday with a scan on Wednesday revealing the full extent of the damage.
The Netherlands striker has impressed since arriving at the club and was even recalled to the Dutch national team in August after a two-year international exile.
He appears certain to miss HSV’s upcoming league matches against Hoffenheim and Borussia Dortmund, while games against Hannover 96 and then Stuttgart on November 27 may also come too soon.
