Bundesliga side Hannover have confirmed that league rivals Hamburg SV have been showing interest in striker Mame Biram Diouf.
The highly rated forward has already decided to leave the 96ers when his contract expires at the end of the campaign, but he has yet to reveal the name of his new employers.
And following reports that his former coach Mirko Slomka is eager to lure him to HSV, Hannover chief Martin Kind has confirmed there is truth in the rumours.
“Yes, I have heard about it. We have taken note, that’s okay,” Kind confessed to German daily Bild.
“Mirko Slomka’s interest in Diouf is not exclusive. There are other clubs interested in him. We will continue to do everything to ensure that he stays with us.”
Mame Biram Diouf has successfully kick-started his career at Hannover following a disappointing spell in English Premier League, but he is now looking for a new challenge.
Since joining the club in a cut-price deal from Manchester United, the Senegalese has managed 26 goals in 57 Bundesliga appearances.
Relegation rivals Hannover and Hamburg square off on Saturday afternoon, with the 96ers 7/5 favourites to claim maximum points.
