Russian daily Izvestia has learnt that Hamburg are keeping close tabs on Zenit midfielder Viktor Fayzulin.
The Bundesliga side are closing in on European qualification and they are keen to add few more quality players to their ranks in the summer.
According to Izvestia, HSV officials have already contacted Zenit to enquire about the possibility of signing Viktor Fayzulin.
The problem is that the 27-year-old has become an important member of Luciano Spalletti’s squad and neither he nor his employers are prepared to consider an offer from Hamburg.
Viktor Fayzulin has a contract until June 2016 at Zenit, and he is valued at €7 million. The player has spent last six years at Petrovskij Stadium, scoring 16 goals in 106 league appearances.
He has only recently established himself as a first team regular, and has managed to score no less than 5 goals in 21 Russian Premier League matches this term.
