Competition: Championship
Market: Huddersfield win
Odds: 7/5 @ Bet 365
Handed the chance to climb out of the drop zone, a resurging Huddersfield will welcome Middlesbrough to the John Smith’s Stadium on Wednesday night.
Starting with the hosts, snatching a 2-2 draw off of rivals Blackburn over the weekend, Huddersfield have really started to catch the eye since appointing Danny Cowley last month. Enjoying a four-match unbeaten run, including back-to-back victories over Stokes and a 3-0 win over Hull prior to the international break, the mood around West Yorkshire is continuing to rise. Handed the chance to leapfrog Middlesbrough and move out of the drop zone for the first time since August, the Terriers have now scored five goals in their last two appearances and they will be confident of extending their purple patch in midweek.
As for the visitors, while the mood in Huddersfield’s camp might be on the rise, Middlesbrough find themselves in the midst of a continued rut. Still struggling to find their feet since brining in former defender Jonathan Woodgate, the Reds are coming off the back of a 1-0 defeat at home against West Brom on Saturday. They have also now lost four of their last five appearances and have not recorded a victory since the middle of September. With Middlesbrough also yet to pick up a single victory outside of the North East this season, we’re backing a home victory on Wednesday night.
