Competition: Friendly
Market: Huddersfield to win both halves
Odds: 4/5 @ Bet 365
After a record-breaking season for Huddersfield, David Wagner’s Terriers will look to get their preparations off to a solid start when they face off against League Two side Bury at Gigg Lane on Tuesday night.
Starting with the hosts on Tuesday, after a disappointing year in League One saw Ryan Lowe’s side finished rock-bottom and The Shakers are desperately looking to rebuild. However, after traveling to Ibrox to face off against Rangers in their first friendly, Bury were thumped 6-0 by Steven Gerrard’s side and it is hard to see them keeping out a Huddersfield side who will be filled with confidence after an historic year.
As for David Wagner’s side, although many expect Huddersfield to immediately drop back down to the Championship, the Premier League debutants avoided the drop and even managed to take points off the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal. Although The Terriers will be without World Cup stars Aaron Mooy, Jonas Lossl, Mathias ‘Zanka’ Jorgensen and Ramadan Sobhi, the German boss is expected to name a strong line-up that will include Steve Mounie, the 23-year-old scored nine Premier League goals last season and was Huddersfield’s top scorer.
