Stoke City manager Mark Hughes is hopeful of tying up a deal for New England Revolution striker Juan Agudelo.
The 20-year-old has been linked with a move to the Brittania Stadium throughout the close-season.
Reports have surfaced in the player’s homeland claiming the United States international has already signed a pre-contract agreement to join the club when his current deal at New England expires in December.
And Hughes himself has confirmed that he hopes to conclude a deal for the forward.
“We are hopeful of progressing that,” he is quoted as saying by The Sentinel.
“There seems to be a willingness from most sides.
“He’s a good young player and we feel he’s got potential and we would like that to happen.”
New boss Hughes is looking for further additions to his squad before the transfer window closes and has already completed deals for the likes of Erik Pieters and Marc Muniesa.
