Fulham manager Mark Hughes is hopeful Australia goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer will end speculation over his future by signing a new contract with the Premier League club.
Schwarzer was disappointed Fulham refused to sell him when Arsenal showed interest in the 38-year-old during the close-season and he had been expected to leave on a free transfer when his current deal expires in June.
But Hughes believes Schwarzer, back in fine form after an injury earlier this season, is coming round to the idea of extending his stay at Craven Cottage.
“We’ve been talking with Mark in recent weeks and, hopefully, we’ll soon have some good news about his future,” Hughes said. “We are confident he is going to be our keeper.”
