Liga Sagres winners Porto have agreed a new deal with leading goal-scorer Hulk, contracting the Brazilian to the club until 2016.
Hulk, 24, topped the scoring charts for the Portuguese champions this season with 23 goals.
He has also helped the team reach the final of the Europa League, with his performances drawing interest from across Europe.
Manchester City and Serie A winners AC Milan were among those linked with a move for the former Sao Paulo forward.
But Porto have now moved to end speculation about the future of one of their prized assets, paying Uruguayan club Atletico Rentistas 13.5 million euros to acquire a further 40 per cent of the player’s sporting rights.
The agreement takes Porto’s ownership of the player to 85 per cent in total.
“FC Porto inform that they have extended the player’s contract until June 30, 2016, maintaining his departure clause at 100m euros,” the club said in a statement to the Portuguese stock exchange.
Porto play Liga Sagres rivals Braga in an all-Portuguese Europa League final at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on Wednesday.
