Russian daily newspaper Izvestia has learned that Brazilian forward Hulk has asked Zenit chiefs to be allowed to leave the club at the end of the season.
The 27-year-old seems to have regretted his decision to move to Russian Premier League and he is eager to return to the biggest stage.
And despite improving his form following a difficult start to his career in Russia, Hulk looks determined to leave at the end of the campaign.
According to Izvestia, he has asked the club board not to block his move away from the club in the summer transfer window.
Hulk aims to leave Zenit after the 2014 World Cup, with English Premier League his most likely destination.
It remains to be seen whether his current employers will be prepared to consider a summer exit, but having reportedly paid €50 million for the forward in September 2012, chances are he won’t be leaving on the cheap.
