Hull closing in on Dawson

Hull City are set to make a £4m bid for Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson, according to the Mirror.

The centre-back, whose older brother Andy left Hull after a decade with the club last summer, made forty appearances in all competitions for Spurs last season but looks set to move on after nine-and-half years in North London.

Should the transfer materialise, he will become the third player in the last twelve months to swap White Hart Lane for the KC Stadium, after Tom Huddlestone moved last summer, and Jake Livermore signed on a permanent deal over the weekend following a season long loan.

Internationally, the former Nottingham Forest man has won just four caps for England having made his debut in a friendly against Hungary four years ago.

Hull will play European football for the first time in their history next season having reached last month’s FA Cup final, where were beaten by Arsenal.
