Hull keen on Richards

Hull City caretaker manager Mike Phealen wants to make Micah Richards his first signing, according to the Mirror.

The relegation favourites have just thirteen senior players in their current squad but have defied the odds to take maximum points from their opening two Premier League games this season, beating both champions Leicester City and Swansea City while they also eased past Exeter City in their League Cup second round tie on Tuesday evening.

Richards only moved to Villa Park from Manchester City last summer and racked up twenty-eight appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals though he was unable to help them retain their top flight status.

However, he could be set for an immediate return to the Premier League with Hull desperate to bring in players ahead of next week’s transfer deadline.

Despite currently having a 100% record thus far, the Tigers remain joint favourites to go down at 10/11.
