Premier League side Hull City have completed the signing of Seyi Olofinjana from Stoke and agreed a loan deal for Jozy Altidore from Villarreal.
The 29-year-old Olofinjana has agreed a four-year deal with the Tigers after deciding against a move to join French Ligue 1 club Monaco.
The Nigerian, who started his career with FC Crown Ogbomoso while also having played for SK Brann and Wolverhampton Wanderers, made 21 appearances for the Potters last season and twice being on the scoring sheet.
Stoke boss Tony Pulis told the club’s official website: “Seyi really is one of the nicest players I’ve come across in football, a real gentleman, so he goes with our best wishes,” he said.
“If it’s a good move for the kid, then you have to be fair and honest to them, especially if they have been really good in their time with the club and not been any problem whatsoever.
“We both understand each other’s situation and that’s why there is plenty of good feeling on both sides with this one.”
And Hull have also announced the signing of United States of America international striker Altidore on a season-long loan from Villarreal, subject to him obtaining a work permit.
