Hull City are readying a third bid for Sheffield United’s highly rated defender Harry Maguire, according to the Mirror.
Last season’s FA Cup runners-up, who are preparing for a first ever season in Europe, recently failed with a £1.75m approach for the 22 year old having already had an initial bid of £1.5m rebuffed by the League One club.
Blades manager Nigel Clough is holding out for £4m for his star man, who faced the Tigers at Wembley in the semi-finals of the FA Cup back in April.
Since breaking into United’s first team, Maguire has made one hundred and sixty-six appearances in all competitions, scoring twelve goals, while has been named the club’s Player of the Year the last three years in succession.
Sheffield United finished in seventh place in the third tier last season, seven points behind Peterborough United in the final play-off position, and the Yorkshire club are 15/8 favourites to be promoted to the Championship next May.
