Premier League side Hull City have made a “firm and substantial” bid for Fulham striker Bobby Zamora, according to manager Phil Brown.
The bid comes, after Tigers chairman Paul Duffen revealed the club’s interest in Zamora earlier this week.
But Duffen has suggested that the London club would be willing to sell the 29-year-old, who scored twice in 35 Premier League appearances last season, once a replacement is secured.
While Hull have also agreed a fee for Manchester United striker Fraizer Campbell, Brown has confirmed that he currently has bids in for four players.
“We’ve been active with regards to Fulham,” the Tigers boss told the Hull Daily Mail.
“There is a firm and substantial bid on the table for Bobby Zamora.”
“I’m waiting to hear from my chairman for the next step.”
“There are substantial bids on the table for four players, one being Fraizer Campbell and the other being Bobby Zamora.”
Missing out on transfer targets like Michael Owen and Marc-Antoine Fortune, hasn’t deterred Brown’s confidence, and has insisted that he is not worried about failing to land his targets.
He added: “There are a number of players out there that we want to bring to this football club.”
“We’re pitching it high this year rather than being content with staying in the division like last season.”
“Hopefully the players that come through the door will reflect that.”
“There are a number of deals ongoing, but am I anxious or nervous that people have not arrived yet, no I’m not.”
“There’s a lot of hard work going on in the background and it’s constant effort going in to getting stronger individuals to improve the team.”
