Hull’s Harper praises impact of new arrivals

Hull City’s veteran goalkeeper Steve Harper as heaped praise on new signings Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long, both of who scored to secure a 2-0 win for the Tigers over Sunderland on Saturday afternoon, according to Sky Sports.

Long opened the scoring on sixteen minutes, with Jelavic doubling the visitors advantage on the hour mark to secure victory for Steve Bruce’s side on the managers former stomping ground.

Bruce is delighted to have added the pair to his strike force, with his mantra being that a side is only as good as their strikers.

Hull’s win at the weekend was their first in the league this year, and only their second since they beat Liverpool on December 1st.

They currently sit in eleventh ahead of tomorrow evening’s visit of a Southampton side two places above them, and the hosts can be backed at a generous price of 2/1 to take all three points.
