Hull´s hell continues as Rovers bite

Hull’s desperate plunge down the English Premier League table continued Sunday as visitors Blackburn hauled themselves out of the relegation zone with a 2-1 win at the KC Stadium.

Hull have now gone 11 league games without a win and are just three points above the drop zone, while Blackburn moved one place out of the relegation spots on goal difference.

Rovers defender Stephen Warnock scored the opener in the 34th minute and Ireland midfielder Keith Andrews doubled the damage three minutes later thanks to a Warnock pass.

Tigers midfielder Dean Marney was given a straight red card in the 63rd minute and Rovers’ Norway midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen was dismissed for a second bookable offence seven minutes later.

Hull midfielder Ian Ashbee pulled one back for the hosts in the 79th but they could not capitalise on it to snatch a draw.

Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce had put out a second-string team at Coventry in midweek as Rovers went crashing out of the FA Cup 5th round replay with a 1-0 defeat.

And the gamble of resting his first team seemingly paid off as he got one over his old assistant, Hull manager Phil Brown.
