Mats Hummels could be on the move this summer, according to a report by Sport1.
Having started out with Bayern Munich, Hummels returned to the club in 2016 after spending nine seasons with their fiercest rivals Borussia Dortmund. Since then he has made 110 appearances in all competitions, finding the opposition net eight times, and won two consecutive Bundesliga titles. He may yet add to that tally at the end of this season. He has played 70 games as a Germany international, before being unceremoniously axed from the team along with Bayern teammate Jerome Boateng by coach Joachim Low.
The Bavarians are looking to rejuvenate their team and are reportedly planning a massive squad overhaul this summer. As for the back line, they’ve already secured the services of Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard, both 23, and it seems that the experienced centre-back may become surplus to requirements.
He is apparently open to several options in terms of destination. Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are among them, and he would be open to an offer from either the Premier League or La Liga.
