Hummels uncertain over future

Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels has admitted he is considering his future at the club amid ongoing reported interest from Manchester United.

Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels has admitted he is considering his future at the club amid ongoing reported interest from Manchester United.

The Germany international, 26, is contracted to Signal Iduna Park until the summer of 2017, but could seek pastures new come July, with Dortmund surely set to miss out on next season’s UEFA Champions League.

“Everyone knows how much I like Dortmund, but I also want us to have a powerful team which has a powerful approach,” Hummels told German magazine Kicker.

“I have had a few conversations recently, which were very relevant for me to get a general overview, but I haven’t made a decision about my future.”

Hummels added: “I often think that I definitely want to move abroad, but then there are other days where I say I don’t need it,” added Hummels.

“Basically, I think a foreign move would be good for both personal and footballing development, so it could well transpire that I’d someday like to move abroad.

“It’s definitely not the case that I am saying I will definitely go.

“When there is a decision from me in which direction things are heading, I’ll talk about it openly.

“I’m not a fan of those who claim they are staying, but behind the scenes have already secretly settled the matter.”

Dortmund (9-6-11) will play host to reigning Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Chicharito frustrated by lack of first-team football

Mexico international striker Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez has revealed he is frustrated by his lack of playing time at Real Madrid, having managed just 590 minutes for the club this season.

Essentially, Hernandez, 26, has been kept of the first-team by France’s Karim Benzema, who has tallied 20 goals and 11 assists in 40 competitive appearances for Madrid in 2014/15.

“My situation is frustrating,” Hernandez told Fox Sports. “I participate, give my all in training, but as far as for playing in matches, the opportunities are minimal. I belong to a team, but am not part of the important bit, the actual games.

“Sometimes my confidence is right down on the ground, even though I am trying for it to be up there, with the help of the people who are always at my side and who support me.”

Hernandez endured similar frustrations at Old Trafford last term, and could placed on the transfer market in the summer.

The 26-year-old added: “The most important thing is to get chances, and to feel that they believe in you. Whenever they [United] have entrusted me to do something it comes out positively, but I’ve been through two rather frustrating years.

“There needs to be people who believe in me, at least so I can prove if I am any good or not.”
