Netherlands forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has admitted he is nervous ahead of Sunday’s Euro 2012 crunch match against Portugal.
The Dutch head into their final group match in a must-win situation after suffering two consecutive defeats in Poland and Ukraine.
A victory by more than one goal against Portugal alone will not be enough to see the Netherlands go through, as Germany must also defeat Denmark, but Huntelaar is refusing to throw in the towel.
“I am feeling nervous for the last match,” Huntelaar told reporters at a press conference. “I am feeling positive energy for the game, which will be our last chance.
“We have to score twice and I am convinced that the Germans can and will beat Denmark.”
Earlier on Friday, Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk confirmed he would make changes to his starting team for the match against Portugal, with Huntelaar strongly tipped to start.
“One can always guess, but I do not know what changes he is going to make,” the Schalke forward said.
