Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar says he is not worried about his future and is simply focused on scoring for the Bundesliga side.
The Netherlands international has been in fine form this season, hitting the back of the net 19 times in the league and finishing as the overall top scorer in European Championship qualifying with 12 strikes for Dutch side.
The former Real Madrid marksman’s contract with the Gelsenkirchen outfit is set to expire at the end of the 2012/13 season, and there has been uncertainty over his future.
Despite this, Huntelaar is keeping his thoughts on matters on the pitch.
“Whether I am now more expensive with each goal, I do not know; you will have to ask (sporting director) Horst Heldt,” the 28-year-old told Deutscher Presse-Agentur.
“For me it is just important to score goals. I am not interested in the rest for now.”
Huntelaar scored a hat-trick for Schalke in their 4-1 Europa League win over Twente on Thursday to send the German side through to the quarter-finals
