Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton has put pen to paper on a new three year deal with the club, according to Sky Sports.
The 29 year old had looked to be on his way out of Villa Park after failing to make a single appearance for the club in either of the past two campaigns, but has been an ever present member of Paul Lambert’s side so far this season, with has begun without defeat.
He spent the end of last season on loan with Bolton Wanderers, having previously enjoyed temporary spells with La Liga side Real Mallorca and Nottingham Forest.
A Gabriel Agbonlahor goal helped Villa secure a shock 1-0 victory at Anfield on Saturday afternoon – lifting them to second place in the table, just two points behind early pacesetters Chelsea.
Their next game will see them face Arsenal at home, where they can be backed at 7/2 for the win.
