Hutton set for Bolton switch

The Mirror understands that Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton is set to move to Bolton Wanderers on loan, once the issue of his wages is settled.

The Scotland international has been frozen out at Villa Park since the arrival of Paul Lambert in the summer of 2012, not making a single appearance under the former Norwich City boss.

He has had brief spells with Nottingham Forest and Real Mallorca, and is set for another temporary move, with the Trotters hoping to strike a deal in time for him to feature in Saturday afternoon’s game with Blackburn Rovers.

However, that scenario hangs on whether or not the two clubs are able to agree on how to split his £40,000 per week wages.

Dougie Freedman’s side currently sit six points above the Championship relegation zone, and will be keen to move further away from trouble with a win over their local rivals, which can be backed at a price of 6/4.
