Despite recent newspaper claims in England that Chelsea have launched an 80-million-euro (118-million-dollar) bid for Kaka, the Brazilian superstar insisted Wednesday that he is staying at AC Milan.

Speaking to Mediaset, the world player of the year didn't rule out a move to Chelsea at some point in the future but said for now he would be staying in the north of Italy.

Asked if the sale of Andrei Shevchenko from Chelsea to Milan had contained a clause allowing Kaka to move to Stamford Bridge in a year's time, Kaka was non commital.

“I couldn't say because if someone has promised me to (Cheslea owner Roman) Abramovich it wasn't me,” he said.

“I'm kidding of course. I've always said that I'm happy at Milan and as long as I have the same objectives as Milan, I'll stay here.

“That's the way it's always been. My aim is to win and that's the same with Milan as you can see by the effort they've made in that direction, strengthening the squad in such a way that this will always be a team of winners.

“As long as that's the case, I'll be staying.”

Kaka also admitted that his team would be focussing on reclaiming the Serie A title for the first time in five seasons.

“People say we're not interested in winning the UEFA Cup. This group has won everything we could possibly win,” said the 26-year-old.

“Our main aim is to win the scudetto. I think Inter (Milan) will be the team to beat given what they've done these last few years.

“Then of course Juve who've bought well: this year they'll also be playing in the Champions League and could have a great season.

“And then there's always AS Roma who are a team that play great football. These will be our rivals throughout the season but there are always surprises.

“Fiorentina are a team that have been playing together for some time now and last season they had a great year and they could repeat that.

“And then we'll see if there are any other surprise packages.”

Milan have a lot to make up for after last season's disappointments in which they bowed out of the Champions League in the second round to Arsenal and finished only fifth in Serie A.

But a spate of top drawer signings including Shevchenko, Ronaldinho, Mathieu Flamini and Gianluca Zambrotta has given the northern giants renewed hope for this season.

Inter's major addition, however, has been former Porto and Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, someone Kaka is looking forward to having in Italy.

“I like him. I've met him a few times, we spoke a little and everyone that's worked with him says he's a great coach,” added the Brazilian.

“He has this special character but that's something entertaining. He likes to wind people up but I like him.”
