Wayne Rooney wants to open talks over a contract extension at Manchester United within the next few months. According to several reports, Barcelona are interested to add the English striker to their already impressive attack but Rooney insists on staying at Old Trafford. “It’s nice to be noticed but I’m very happy here.”
The 24-year-old arrived from Everton in 2004 and won several Premier League titles and the Champions League with the Mancunians. He considers Old Trafford as his second home.
“I love the place. It’s 30 minutes from home and all my family, and I have got a great chance of winning trophies,” Rooney told the BBC.
Therefore, Rooney isn’t impressed with the rumours of a possible transfer to Barcelona.
“I can’t see myself leaving United. I have got two years left on my contract after this year and I’m sure we will be negotiating a new deal in the next few months.”
“Although I was an Everton fan, I loved watching United play. It’s a great club and I’m very happy here.”
