Napoli ace Marek Hamšík will not be sold by his club – even if a club offers €50 million for him – according the Italian club’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis .
Hamšík, who captained Slovakia at the 2010 World Cup, committed his future to Napoli by signing a new contract last week keeping him at the club until 2015.
Stars such as Hamšík, Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi have helped Napoli enjoy a good start for the season and De Laurentiis maintains the aforementioned stars remain ‘integral’ to the club’s plans.
“I won’t sell Hamsik not even for €50 million,” De Laurentiis told Corriere dello Sport. “Offers always come in for Hamsik and Lavezzi. But we don’t sell players who are integral to our plans, we sell players who don’t fit in.”
“If a crazy offer above the market value comes in … not that €50 million for Hamsik is above the market value.”
Hamšík joined Napoli from Brescia in 2007 for €5.5 million.
