Ibe closing in on new Reds deal

Liverpool winger Jordan Ibe is closing in on a new deal at Anfield, according to the Mail Online.

The England U19 international returned to Brendan Rodgers’ side in January after spending the first half of the season on loan with Championship promotion hopefuls Derby County, where he made twenty-four appearances in all competitions and scored five goals.

Since returning to Merseyside, Ibe has played seven times and he is set to return to the Reds’ match day squad for this evening’s game against Newcastle United, after missing the last six weeks with a knee injury.

Manchester City’s loss in the Manchester derby yesterday afternoon means that there in a seven point gap between the Champions in fourth place and last season’s runners-up, who sit in sixth.

Liverpool will be keen to close that gap when they host the Magpies, and the home win can be backed at a price of 4/11.
