(GSM) – Arrigo Sacchi has reiterated his statement about Zlatan Ibrahimovic. “He’s the greatest soloist in the world”.
The Swedish striker was involved in an ugly bust-up with legendary former Milan and Italy coach Arigo Sacchi after the Champions League match against Auxerre in which Ibra scored two goals to secure the victory.
The former Barcelona forward infamously told Sacchi to shut up, causing quite a stir in the Italian media.
“Ibra is the greatest soloist in the world,” Sacchi said. “If he adapts to a team’s tactics he can become the greatest player in absolute.
“I hope that he has more success than I had in my years at Milan’s helm. I am surrounded by affection and respect.
“I am sorry for this business (with Ibrahimovic). My criticisms were only technical. It seems strange to me because I am Berlusconi and Galliani’s friend and I believe that I did something for Milan as the fans’ recognition demonstrates.
“Ibra didn’t do any good PR for himself. But I believe he was just tired after the game,” he concluded.
