Ibrahimovic: Critics should ´shut up´

AC Milan attacker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has rubbished suggestions of a falling out between he and coach Massimiliano Allegri.

The Sweden international voiced his discontent with Allegri’s tactics in their 3-0 Champions League loss against Arsenal last week, and a number of reports suggested that the two had words in the dressing room after the final whistle.

Nevertheless, Ibrahimovic has downplayed the significance of last week’s events.

“The controversy about my alleged verbal confrontation with Allegri? A lot of people are talking about things they don’t know anything about. They should just shut up,” Ibrahimovic said.

“Nobody’s happy after a loss, and I definitely wasn’t. That’s all.”

The forward then went on to discuss his side’s 2-0 Serie A win over Lecce on Sunday, and was pleased to see Milan double their lead over Juventus in the league table.

“We are a bit more relaxed now that we have a four-point lead. However, the season is not over yet and a lot can still happen,” he said.

“The team’s success is all that matters. We simply want to win our games.”
