(GSM) – Zlatan Ibrahimovic has confirmed that he will not play for Sweden again “for now”. The Barcelona striker already had doubts over his international career and has now declared that he takes a break from internatiional duty. “I’m not motivated and there are no important games.”

Ibrahimovic suprised the new Swedish national manager Erik Hamren last month by saying that he might have played his last international match. The towering hitman said he had multiple reasons for his decision. The most important reasons seems to be Sweden’s “useless” friendlies. Sweden won’t be at the World Cup next year and ‘Ibra’ doesn’t want to play matches where there’s nothing at stake.

“I would waste energy for nothing and make a useless sacrifice,” Ibrahimovic said. “I would rather spare my body. There are so many matches for Barcelona coming up and there’s so much I have to worry about.” But the 28-year-old forward doesn’t exclude a comeback. “I do not know what will happen in the future,” Ibrahimovic said. “We will have to see what happens next year.”
