Sweden's star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic insisted Saturday that he was confident he would be fit for Euro 2008 despite suffering from a lingering knee injury.

“I'll be in good condition to play then,” he told the Swedish regional daily Sydsvenskan.

Ibrahimovic said he was hopeful of finishing the season with his Serie A team Inter Milan.

“There are still three matches left in the league and potentially two in the Cup. Maybe I'll be able to play next Sunday,” added the striker, who missed out on a friendly against Brazil last month because of the knee tendon problem.

Since then he has been undergoing physiotheraphy in his native Malmo.

Hope he will get fit in time. The best players need to participate to make the competition more attractive. I’m sure Sweden needs him bad too
