Glasgow Rangers marked the 40th anniversary of the Ibrox stadium disaster prior to their 2-0 defeat to Celtic on Sunday.
The Scottish champions remembered the 66 football supporters who were crushed to death as they attempted to leave the stadium during the same fixture on January 2nd 1971.
Hundreds more were injured as fans attempted to leave via a long concrete stairwell.
Sunday’s game saw the two teams led out by their captains of 1971 with John Greig leading out Rangers and Billy McNeil taking Celtic onto the field before a minute’s silence was observed.
Rangers players also wore a special jersey to commemorate the disaster.
