Icardi held talks with Real Madrid

According to a recent report from Marca, Mauro Icardi held talks with Real Madrid in both 2017 and 2018 over the possibility of a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu from Inter Milan. Despite this, Florentino Perez decided to scrap the potential deals as a direct result of his character. 

Icardi, who now plays for Paris Saint-Germain, has been at the heart of some big controversies throughout the course of his time in professional football. Many believe he’s quite aggressive and hard to deal with, whereas others choose to value what he does on the pitch above just about anything else. 

Mauro Icardi has the potential to do some great things in the sport, but at this stage, it’s all about determining whether or not he can be trusted. 

For now it seems as if the answer is yes, but nobody truly knows when he may next decide to flip the switch once again.
