Argentine striker Mauro Icardi could be leaving Inter Milan at the end of the season, according to Mediaset.
The 22-year-old has been the only shining light in an otherwise utterly disappointing campaign for the Nerazzurri, and he has in turn been linked with a number of top European clubs.
In an attempt to ward off interest from abroad, Inter officials have started talks with his agents over a new and improved deal, but they are still unable to reach an agreement.
Mediaset is reporting that Icardi has rejected a contract worth €2.6 million per campaign as he hopes to be earning around €3 million per season at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
The youngster might be willing to accept a lower salary, but only in case a release clause is inserted in his contract.
Mauro Icardi quickly proved his worth after arriving from Sampdoria and he has so far netted 24 times in 49 Serie A appearances for Inter Milan.
