Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi has now returned to first team training with the club. The 26 year old was stripped of his captaincy recently due to issues with his contract negotiations, with Icardi stating that he had a knee injury that he was dealing with. The club rejected that notion and said tests revealed nothing was wrong with him, with the Argentine spending more than a month on ‘the shelf’. Icardi could well be called up for the club’s next match at the end of the month, where they’ll face Lazio.
It seems like a virtual certainty that he’ll be leaving the San Siro during the summer transfer window, but his eventual destination is not yet known. Some fans feel as if a transfer to Barcelona is on the cards, but Barca may not be interested in the drama that could come with signing him – especially after the issues they’ve had with Dembele.
