Icardi set for new Inter deal?

According to reports in Italy, Mauro Icardi is set to sign a new deal with Inter Milan. The Italian forward has been on fire over the course of the last few seasons and as such there have been many question marks hanging over his head, and it appears as if he’s close to answering them following a period of great uncertainty.

The 25 year old’s current deal is set to run through until 2021 but the Milan-based club clearly want more insurance than that, especially given who is interested in him. Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea have all registered their interest and it’s not like they’d be shy when it comes to putting in bids – which begs the question as to whether or not this’ll put them all off permanently.

If it does, then this can only be viewed as a huge triumph for an Inter side desperate to make a splash in Europe once again.
