Icardi to Barcelona?

In a recent interview with Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde hinted at the possibility of Mauro Icardi returning to play for the club one day. Valverde called him a great player before stating that we can not know anything about the future. Icardi was in the youth system at the Nou Camp many years ago before leaving for Italy, but it certainly seems like there would be a place for him with the Spanish giants if they decided to make the investment.

Icardi is undoubtedly one of the most lethal strikers in both Italy and the whole of Europe, and he’s played a major role in Inter’s fantastic run of form lately. The 25 year old will likely feature in Inter’s big game against Barcelona in the Champions League tonight, but beyond all of that, it’ll be interesting to monitor his trajectory as the rumours surrounding his future continue to persist.
